Frequently asked questions

How are nested objects converted?+

Nested fields become columns with dot names, like customer.address.city. Arrays of plain values are joined into one cell; arrays of objects can be kept as JSON text, spread into numbered columns, or expanded into one row per item.

My JSON is an API response, not an array. Does it work?+

Yes. CurlyJSON finds arrays of records anywhere in the document — like data.users — and lets you pick which one becomes the table.

Why do accented letters look wrong in Excel?+

Excel needs a hint that a CSV file is UTF-8. “Excel-friendly” (on by default) adds it, so names like José or ₹ symbols display correctly.

What is formula protection?+

Cells starting with =, +, - or @ can run as formulas when opened in a spreadsheet. Protection prefixes them with an apostrophe so they stay as text.

Is my data uploaded?+

No. Everything runs in your browser.
