YAML to JSON Converter
Paste YAML — get JSON. Anchors, merge keys and multi-document files supported, with exact error positions.
YAML to JSON, without surprises
Converters often change your data quietly. This one keeps values exact and tells you whenever something can’t be carried over.
- YAML 1.2, done right
- Only true/false are booleans; dates stay as strings; big integers stay exact.
- Anchors & merge keys
- Aliases and << merges are expanded into plain JSON.
- Clear errors
- Bad indentation or a missing bracket is reported with its line and column.
- Private & free
- Runs in your browser — config files with secrets never leave your computer.
- Paste, drop or open
- Drop a .yml file anywhere on the input, or switch direction with one click.
Frequently asked questions
Does it support anchors (&) and merge keys (<<)?+
Yes. Anchors and aliases are resolved, and << merge keys copy the referenced mapping, just like in Kubernetes and Docker Compose files.
What about files with several documents (---)?+
By default the first document is converted. Turn on “All documents” to get a JSON array with one item per document — handy for multi-resource Kubernetes manifests.
Why does no stay "no" instead of false?+
CurlyJSON reads YAML 1.2, the current standard, where only true and false are booleans. That avoids the classic bug where a country code like NO turns into false.
Is my data uploaded?+
No. Conversion runs in your browser.
